1. First consultation – We get to know each other and discuss your orthodontic treatment

Please make an appointment by phone +36303621284 (ask for Judit) or email: rendelo.balla@gmail.com. During the first consultation, we discuss your options for your orthodontic treatment. We set the goal to be achieved and define the extent of the correction. We will find the best options for your teeth.

At the first consultation, we plan the following :

  • What orthodontic treatment is needed?
  • What condition your teeth are in, do you need any scaling or filling before starting orthodontic treatment?
  • Do you need to have your teeth extracted?
  • How long will your treatment last?
  • How much will the full orthodontic treatment cost?

We’ll ask you to bring us a full panoramic scan.

The final, detailed treatment plan will be decided together based on our professional recommendations at our third appointment.

2. Second consultation – Take impressions, analyse X-rays

Bring the requested X-rays with you. At this meeting, impressions are taken of the teeth, which will go to the dental laboratory where they will be cast in plaster to make a replica of the tooth.

3. Third consultation – Discuss treatment plan

This is one of the most important appointments. Your personalised treatment plan will be based on the x-rays and plaster cast of your teeth. We ensure that you understand everything clearly, and we place great emphasis on communication. This is when we discuss what orthodontic technology and what appliance braces will we use and how long your treatment will take. We discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the different approaches and give you an exact price quote (see some information on our prices here).

The final decision is yours! We will help you make it, of course.

Once you have decided which orthodontic system you would like, we will order the appliance for you.

4. Fitting the braces

You should complete all recommended dental treatments (plaque removal, filling, tooth extraction) before this phase.

The application of an appliance (brace) takes about an hour and requires very precise work, as the position of the brackets determines the future position of your teeth. We are never in a hurry, there is complete peace of mind during the process.
The modern adhesives used for the braces protect the tooth under the brackets, release fluoride and bond instantly under the light of a special lamp.
We’ll give you advice on what sensitivity to expect, what you can eat with braces, how to brush your teeth with braces, and what happens if something comes off it.

5. Activation – setting up your braces

You only need to activate modern adult orthodontic appliances once in every 6 weeks. At these meetings, your orthodontic appliance is supplied with new force.  Without these, your braces would lose force, and your treatment could not be completed in time. The arches are usually replaced with stronger ones and/or elastic elements or springs are added to the appliance. After the activation, 1-2 days of increased sensitivity can be expected.

6. Retention phase – after-treatment

Once the fixed braces are removed, the after-treatment, called retention begins. You need to take this period of phase of your orthodontic treatment as seriously as the fixed period, as it is the only way to ensure that the results will last.
The retention period usually lasts 1.5-2 years. Retention appliances are usually removable braces and there are several types. They fit exactly on the neatly aligned denture and do not allow your teeth to move back to their former position. They should always be fitted on clean teeth and the appliance itself should be cleaned with toothpaste and a toothbrush, then rinsed with lukewarm water. These appliances should be worn for as much of the 24 hours of the day as possible for the first quarter of the year, after which, if the situation permits, they can be switched to night-time wear only. We also use fixed retention devices if required.
