Preliminary examination and anamnesis
On the first occasion we conduct a clinical examination in order to find out which type of orthodontic treatment is needed. Then through a discussion we try to find a solution to the problems. We talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the possible orthodontic treatment(s). We take a thorough anamnesis and register the patient’s data.
Diagnostic results
If orthodontic treatment is necessary, then further examinations are needed in order to elaborate and set up an exact treatment plan. We take an upper and lower dental impression from which study models are produced. Furthermore, for the planning a panoramic x-ray and a Cephlametric x-ray(lateral skull) are also needed, and we take digital photographs of the face and the mouth.
Consultation, treatment plan
Both of th parents and the patient are expected to attend this occasion. We discuss the detailed treatment plan, we conciliate it with the patient’s ideas and expectations. We clarify the expected results, the length and the costs of the treatment.
The general dentist
Before starting the treatment, the patient has to master the perfect mouth hygienic practices and the existing cavity and gum problems have to be treated. Sound and healthy teeth are needed in order to start and execute the orthodontic treatment. Before the orthodontic treatment ask for an appointment with your general dentist.
Let the orthodontic treatment begin!
Then we pass over the removable appliance, or place the fixed one. We provide the patients with advice on how to wear the appliance, what to be attentive to. We explain them what kind of special teeth brushing techniques the appliance requires to master and what to watch out when eating.
